Job description
To support our Nickel Intermediates team, we are looking for a Junior Trading Assistant. In this role you will be required to develop, track & maintain position and markets reports, while supporting key interfaces between critical stakeholders, including trading, logistics, assets, finance, risk and senior management. You should be a motivated and committed person who is comfortable with a high pressure and fast-pace working environment. The job involves a flexible working schedule to respond to opportunities and travel, including over weekends, may be required.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Position Management and Reporting: Develop, track and maintain live nickel intermediate position reports (physical and hedging) to meet trading, accounting, risk and management reporting requirements
Commercial Support: Supporting the identification, acquisition and co-ordination of nickel containing intermediate materials
Market Analysis: Working closely with the nickel analyst team to provide key market assessments, including facilitating the collection of information through interaction with industrial peers, competitors and ancillary contacts
Marketing: Shadowing marketing team members during customer visits, visiting production and logistics facilities
Execution Risk Management: Support the management of risk within the material acquisition process, including with respect to customers profile (KYC), effective contract drafting, price risk, logistics optimization, credit risk, other execution risks, inventories and material safety
Logistics/Storage : Supporting the evaluation & optimization of transport and storage options
Contact with clients/field offices: Correspondence on availability of material in production, transit and in stock; documentation, invoicing, payments, client exposure control and claim handling
Internal tasks: Email exchange and direct contact with traders for the execution of the contracts. Issuing profit and loss calculations, controlling of client exposures and internal position reporting. Dealing with accounting in regards to bookings, account reconciliation, monthly closing tasks and file liquidation

is efficient, possesses well-organized working skills and is ready to adapt to international practices
has strong analytical skills
has good know-how in using IT applications (MS Office, Business Objects)
Qualifications and requirements

A sound educational background (Bachelor or Master Degree), a technical qualification (i.e. metallurgy or chemical engineering) would be a valuable asset
Proficiency in English (spoken and written), further languages are beneficial
Effective communication (verbal and non-verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner
Team player with good interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively across various departments/teams/locations
Enhanced organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
Holding a Swiss work permit or passport holder of CH / EU
